It ...I've tried the Vallejo Poly Gloss varnish. It is OK for figures, but on models, with larger flatish areas, it does darken the colours more than most varnishes. Or at least the way I paint them is. If just go for a dark brown base and then a quick dry brush with a lighter brown.
