2nd set of graves

More graves for the graveyard. Again all Renedra Ltd but the fence around the double grave is from Noch.

Quite a bit of room left in the box so I better keep this up.

Verrotwood: Vicious Terrain - Sacraficial Altar

"Something awful happend here and now the ground itself is tainted with hatred"

If you do a melee attack within 3 inches of this terrain piece, you gain 1D10 attack dice.

Examples: Sacraficial rock, pile of bodies, etc.

I found this free STL ....somewhere?* I can't for the life find who made it, even when using the file name. I'm sure someone will someday tell me. Printed it off, used a saw to remove the badly printed goat skull that was there as sacrifice, sanded it smooth, coverd the gaping hole with some flatterend crumped paper and glued 4 Games Workshop skulls on top. To represent another team of 4 Cultists that had met a untimely end. Or timely, depending on your view.

*Edit: Apparently it is a Forest Shrine from this range Temple or Arba ....but I picked it up as a free STL, I think? It's not in my online receipts at any of the STL places. So I'm now showing off a pirated STL.....FML. I'll send a message to the creator.

This was a experiment on how to paint printed stuff, as it is very different from the MDF I'm used to. Lot's of sponging too on this one to subdue the printlines a bit. Didn't quite work the way I wanted to, but done is done. Size wise it fits in nicely with some of my other shrines.

So...the altar for He Who Ascends, The Allseeing Eye, or the Giant Spikey Boob*? Who knows, but it is done.

*You may thank Modhail for this: "All hail the malignant mammary of magnificent magnitude!"

Stalker grave marker - proof of concept tester

I grabbed a STL of a Orthodox cross yesterday and printed off at 2 sizes to see if it would print properly and if my idea would work for Stalker. The texture of my plate at the back gives that idea of really rough concrete, and the iron function on the front gives you the idea of exposed rebar, so yeah, this works.

Started and finished within 24 hours.....see, I can get shit done quick if I want to. (if only it was so easy but yeah....)

What lurks in the Jungle.... is finally bloody finished.

Last post about these was Feb 2024, but now the lot is finished. The 2 busted ones are more overgrown, and the intact ones I want to be able to use in various surroundings, so I made sure not to go overboard. I think I succeeded.

As planned, these are for 15mm.....but a bit big now that they are done, so into my 28mm Pulp box they go.

And the tacky original as they came in tacky garish colours at 1 euro a piece back then (these days 1,50 euros each cause of course, inflation)

For 15mm I really need to find one half the size, or have 10 of em printed in resin at the proper size. And do it all over again.....

A dead scene

First set of graves is done and tufted so they can go in the box, and I'll make a new batch in the near future. All Renadra in this one, with some minor mods by myself with card and chain. And a ton of tufts.

Stacking Game

I saw a post last week from a fellow gamer that Uncle Alie had some nice pen box containers printed to look like shippin containers for roughly 2-ish euros a pop. I've been looking to replace the mish mash that is my resin, plastic and mdf collection of containers and find some good ones for Cyberpunk etc.

So....

Some arrived damaged (jeez, packing these loose in a bag, how could they be damaged with such professional packaging <sarcasm off>) but it adds to their charm. Try finding a undamaged container in the yard, they might seem tough but they aren't that tough tbh.

...takes me back to one of my first adult jobs, doing the Customs paperwork for containers full of cheese for export, checking the containers, seals, tags etc, and dirving back and forth between the Customs station for the plethora of stamps. So many stamps.....

Headstones galore!

I grabbed a bag of Renedra tombstones and a old bag of flat plastic bases, bought ages ago for a long forgotten reason. A bit of cleanup, a bit of basing, and then a bit more focus on the 2 bigger graves, the last of those still needs a new coverstone from plasticcard that I want to smash up a bit. But that's for tomorrow. Also not a clue where the bag with resin tombstones from GSW ended up, but that will show up someday, I hope. I'll need loads eventually so working in batches like these suits me fine for now.

They are multiplying!

It's not that I need that many, but I was making a few anyway so just finishing before I move on to something else was the smarter move.

So....more spidies.  2 Big ones, 3 small ones, same scheme, roughly same basing style.

Outdoor Shitcan - painted my first 3D homeprint

This is what I bought this printer for. Printed this off in the morning, cleaned and based it in the afternoon and primed it in the evening. Painted it the next day while with my girls, then varnished, based etc.

I used this free file by Pietia Models: Village Toilet

Unlike a lot of other 3D files, this one really seems to work inside the strenth and weakeness of FDM. The way it is printed nicely hides the seam and the layers in the wooden planks. I did discard the roof as I like my normal method of using card more. Basically a 2 piece print at 0.2 layer height, and I did turn ironing on...that just looks better and doesn't cost that much extra time.

I did the most basic of cleaning, a hard brush and a lighter to remove any thin fibres. Glued it to a base with Superglue, sanded it with my usual grit and some rocks. Cheapo primer and I let it dry and gas out over night.

Quick paintjob in green, weathering, gloss varnish, matte varnish and various tufts and calling it done. Slides right in with my Stalker and Post Apoc scenery Hope you like!

A Grave Matter - testbase

Had it in the box, primed and ready to go, so it was about time to finish these. 4cm square base, 2 gravestones from Green Stuff World IIRC. I've been looking at many a peoples (28mm) graves to get an idea how I would like to see mine based up. Tufts from various sources.  28mm scaled.

New parts for the printer. All hail the Machine God.

All the parts arrived, installed a brandnew 0.2 nozzle, and checked ever bolt in the head, took out and cleaned whatever dirt was inside. Dumped the roll of filament into the new Filament Dryer before I started all of this. Turned on calibration and.....

 Son of a.....

Took out the 0,2 nozzle and replaced it with a brandnew 0,4. Took out the clean plate and washed it all over again and started a single 15mm test print at 50% speed. Turned out fine. Did the same at 100% speed. Fine again. Duplicated it so I had 9 on the plate, at 100%. Again, fine. 4 28mm sized containers.....also fine.

Guess I will not be printing with 0.2 any time soon, so 0.4 it is.

9 x 15mm containers test plate

4x 28mm containers test plate

Tomorrow I'll slice up a bigger 28mm item and see how well that works.

Also print up a shrine to the Machine God.

Verrotwood AI Creature: Spider

Before actually designing and building a crew, I thought I first make a few AI Creatures. Always handy for other games as well. To start off, a Wargames Atlantic Spider.

I've seen some pretty scathing reviews on this kit, mostly about assembly....but I have 0 issues (I'm assuming it's either my abundance of experience of their lack of that (or patience)). You have plenty of legs, you can do what you want. Sure, the first 2 legs fit is a bit stiff but Ultra thin glue slides in nicely and sets it in no time.  Based it on a 40mm MDF base (might drill in a hole for a magnet later, but this last batch of MDF discs has a lot of fraying, pretty bad quality if you ask me) added some spackle and sand over that.

Paintjob was easy. Cheapo Action Grey Primer, 3 coats of a mix of Brown and Black wash and a bit of water, with a blast from the hair dryer in between. Vallejo Basalt Grey sponged/dragged on from the top downwards. Mix in a bit of Ivory and repeat. Mix in more Ivory and call it a day. AK Tenebris Grey for the eyes, fangs and base rim. Paint base as usual in some tones, drybrush. Black wash for the eye sockets. Add white stripe for front of base. Spray with gloss varnish. Matte coat the rim and the rest of the base.

Tufts used are AK Chesnut Foliage, GSW Tall Shrubbery Dry and Mininatur Early Fall 2-Tone. Leaves that fell from the AK box were glued on to fill spaces.

And that is it really. Took me a few hours this afternoon to get it all done. Wanted to keep it simple and easy as I'm not sure how many of these I need/want to replicate. The mottled grey and glossy look works fine for it I think. No blood or anything, spider venom does terrible things to fleshy bits. Base has a nice dry/dead look to tie in with the Verrotwood theme.
