More power! Unlimi....well, not THAT much, sorry.

Evenings worth of painting on a old, dare I say ancient, bit of plastic. Bought it for 2,50 euros built, stripped it, cleaned it, rebuild it (as good as 64+ year old plastic let's that happen, the damn thing is at retirement age!) and done. Faller B-143 Transformer Tower, in case you want one.

H0 scale, so works for 15mm as well as 20mm. Went for the "It's older but it checks out" with no defining region stuff, so goes anywhere, any period. Symbol is something I just Googled for with Power Company and looked good. Some spring tufts et voila.

Another shack added to the pile

At a leasurely pace as my hands aren't quite agreeing with me this week, bit brighter this time. Fun builds to do, fits in the palm of my hand.

Minor Emotional Event - old stuff gets finished.

I started this tower for my La Maisontaal build back in 2016 after I got hit by a car. It's been in the dumpster more times than I can remember, but I grabbed it out every single time. Rebuilt it as a post apoc one but never got the right feel painting it (and it went into the dumpster at least once, again)

I grabbed it out of the box this week and finished it. Yes, a lower level than what I used to, but it looks the part, I'm happy with it and good enough is good enough :)

New medication, new stuff, same old problems :P (15mm scratchbuilds)

I've been prescribed (amongst other things) new painkillers, so I'd think of doing a test this wekeend what works and what does not.

Cutting foam with the hot wire cutter, no real problem. Cutting cardboard with my sheetcutter and sciccors....a little bit of a problem. Actually painting stuff, yeah, well, it helps if I take more frequent breaks, but it was ok-ish.

Well, AK-47, but now in 15mm (I'm focussing on stuff I can get here in the Netherlands while avoiding the UK for my purchases. Very sorry, but little cash these days and donating a lot of it with extra taxes and shipping costs is something I can no longer afford). Just to a test to see what I can do and how it goes. Hope you like. Fully scratchbuilt.

(Infantry not painted by me but came in a used lot I bought, they are currently my reference for size)

Big blue shuttle finished

After selling a lot of unbuilt plastic kits I slpurged and bought my kids a Lego trainset en a ton of Friends stuff from the used market. They spent a good 2 days building everything (We have a week holiday now, last day) and I finally found time to build the Disney transport, and I'm very happy with it. Well thougth out, a nice build, it kept me busy for a few hours while the kids weren't busy killing each other (sigh).

It's big, it's blue, and has some nice crew.

Still not planned a test game of Stargrave but I will in time. Wargaming isn't a priority right now, rest, stability and excercise is. As soon as I'm good on those 3 there will be time for wargaming again, maybe. Walking has priority, a minimum of 10.000 steps a day, preferred 10km walk every day and 1-2 times a week a 15+ km walk has done a lot for me. But when one of my closer mates passed away recently, spending time and money on plastic soldier tat that barely ever got used, if at all....money has been flowing to getting better gear for my walks and saving more money for my kids.

Life is all about priorities ey?

In with the old, out with the new.

After my last post I've been selling a lot of kits and spending more time with the kids, which included the Xmas holidays with lot's of Lego...and I realised I really liked that, and that my hands can manage that a bit easier (as long as I don't have to remove blocks from each other).

So, bougth some used Star Wars stuff for myself, (re)built that and quickly realised most of it is a bit useless for something like Stargrave. So I put some stuff aside to be sold again and bought some parts to make my own stuff, and boy was that a rabbithole if I ever saw one.

And I love it.

Of course, me would not be me if I would not be tinkering with it.

I bought a railyard crane and bits to make it twice as long. I bought a Yakku Quadjumper and I'm almost finished (missing 2 blocks to make it perfect) changing one engine into a blue white one for that abused workhorse look. I made a lot of cargo (cover) and watched every bit of Stargrave Lego there is online to get more ideas. Now I'm looking for ideas for machinery, steam vents, data consoles and other things.

I did limit myself spending wise, max 50 a month, and I need to keep selling all of my unbuilt plastic kits.

Of course, when I got a super deal on a rebel cargoship I could not pass up that one, so yeah....it's my crews ship and I'm sticking to that :P

The Tie-Fighter, Y-Wing etc all are very, very nice but not much of a point so those can go. The Quad jumper is perfect, and ....and....

I'm not sure how this will go. I might get surgery again to see if my hands can be fixed, but till then painting is out of the window, it just hurts too much. And with Lego....you build it, it is done. No paint, nothing. Cost wise...not all that different tbh. Both are luxury hobbies. Used kits still demand quite a penny. But again, I'm creative and found stuff that is more than suitable for sci-fi even if it is not sold as such.

So hey, follow me into the rabbithole and see where this all will go :) I'm having fun again and for me, right now, that is all that matters :)

Things were going well, stuff was collected, plans were made

Then I got Covid, again, and spent the full 10 days in Quarantine and now, a month later, I still feel like shit. No energy, I'm focussing fully on losing weight, helped by the fact my benefits have been cut by 20% cause I've been sick for a year already.

There is just no room for the hobby. Not financially, and not in my head. Actually thinking about just liquidating it all, I can use the cash and the space.

Looking forward to 2023, hopefully that will be a better year.
