Father Bernard Arduro from the Order of Brothers of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mt. Carmel
Father Bernard was teaching at the local school when he was abducted by a local militia for not giving high enough grades to the son of their commander. During 3 days of torture he received multiple fractures and lost his left eye. On the 4th day the local authorities raided the militia compound and rescued him, in the process wounding him even more and killing over half the miltia including the commander, despite pleas from Father Bernard to end the bloodshed and to surrender.
He feels he has failed in his duties as a Christian by not preventing so many deaths, but hopes to atone himself by raising the commanders son (which doubles as his driver) and being a voice of peace between the various warring factions.
The model is from Mutineer Miniatures, Christian Militia Command. I removed his sidearm. For the Big Game 2012 he will function as part of my Translator team. I don't expect him to live long.

Lots more junk
Added more items to the junk yard.
Finished 2 more water tanks from The Scene, red tap and yellow tap. Don't drink from the yellow tap! ( I like these loads, when I do a future purchase at The Scene I'll be sure to include more of these)
Not sure what is next. Picked up some 2nd hand kits for the scrapyard, but might also get back to a few figs. We'll seee, the day is still young.
Diecast Beetle convertible, 2nd hand purchase, brand unknown

Scrap I beam from Sgts' Mess and part of a HO oil refinery
Airco unit from The Scene. Now just scrap.
2 skips from The Scene and a experiment in painting weathered yellow. I added the tarp myself.
And a bigger picture shot:

Junk
I think all of these episodes of Junkyard Wars rubbed off a bit :D
Since I don't mind painting loads as long as I can see progress, I went back to my old 2 colour and a wash method for doing rust and it was a breeze. Wet thinned paint and washes dries very quickly when stippled on and gives a coarse raised feel due to all of the point. Here is what I did this morning and have actually finished, there is more but that is for later.

15mm Roof Water Tank from The Scene
Prefectly usable for other scales, from 28's to 6mm, I'll propably paint one up as a sludge tank as well.
Preiser HO scale pallets
You get 60 of these in a pack, should keep me supplied for quite a while.
Rusty steel plate
I have no idea what it originally is, it comes from the Sgts' Mess rubble pack which is worth its weight in gold. With every order from them you must include at least one pack, it is filled with tons of assorted junk and no single pack is the same.
Pulowski Preservation shelter
....is what I've been working on tonight.
I'm using the excuse they will be nice to use as spawnpoints for a zombie game, or as lootmarkers, as territory to be occupied or just to look good on the board. But lets face it, I just like building odd stuff.
Picked up something at Crisis that I thought would work great for them, and with about 10 minutes of work to get them based and converted, I was correct! Just ordered 8 more as I think 10 of them should be enough. They won't be 100% accurate but I'm aiming for players who know about Fallout 3 and have seen them before ingame to recognise them instantly.
No pics now, that will come when they are done.
And for those of you who don't have a clue what I am talking about: Pulowski Preservation shelter

More wrecks
Been infected by the snot monster this week so didn't get any new stuff done, so just 2 more wrecks tonight.
1 old wheelless VW Beetle from Britannia. Got it from Dave once, he was going to send the wheels as well, I never really pressed the issue but sadly he died before he could send them. Still, she does nicely as a wreck. This one is for you Dave.
Nothing fancy, just a wreck being slowly overgrown. Tried aging/frosting the headlights, that came out ok, and tried to fade the windows as well, but that didn't work out as I wanted twice. Reckoned the plastic headlights would fade quicker anyway :). This is one from the varnish disaster so it is more shiney then what I'd like but she will fit in quite nicely in the scrapyard.
Second is a miscast I got from Brian over at the Hobby Den during my last trip to Ireland. It came with a severely miscast tail end that was still very rubbery so I cut that part off, removed 1 damaged headlight (which I could have done better, tbh) and gave it a base. I used a different style for the rust that seems to work pretty convincingly.
1 more wreck of a VW Beetle to do (a busted Diecast) and that is enough for now. I will need some beat up Russian trucks but those can come next year or so.
