Haystacks finished but they look like piss

 3 repaints later this is my best apparently. Oh well. 

 Edit: Apparently they are ok, just that my flock is not green enough. In my defence, when flokcing that was the only bag I could fine, Late Fall Grass. Of course, today I found the box with all of the other colours..... 

 

BSC 2026 - Greebling the shuttle

 Grabbed my box of greeblies and picked out a few bits that should work. Plated over the hole in the back with a bit from a Tie Fighter, got some bigger engines courtesy of a 1/72 T-62 tank, used half a gastank from a PSC M3 Stuart to insert into the front opening, I might add some greeblies to that as sensors....or keep it as is. A hubcap from.....something is now on top for the power...thing. Some 1/35 shells are now on the sides of the cockpit. 

Still need to find something suitable for the hole on top of the cockpit. Lengthwise it fits nicely within the builds confinements, but on the sides I have a lot of space. I might scrounge up some parts to give it VTOL like engine pods or something? I think I have stuff for it somewhere. 

50 cent challenge - More tractor parts

Found this set for 50 cents at the Goodwill and with some alcohol wipes and paint changed it into more Tractor Parts <wink wink, nudge nudge>

Build Something Challenge 2026 - Mark(er/ing/ed)

 Cause I want some distraction from screaming at the clouds (hand = pain) I'm going for it with another build over at the LAF. 

The theme is Mark - Marker - Marking - Marked. 

After a stroll through the goodwill looking for parts I grabbed this little thing from the 25 cents bin (so this is a 50 cent challenge as well, woohoo!).

 Googles AI as usual doesn't know jack shit (...this is an item from the British Series Terrahawks....no it ain't mate....). It's a old Matchbox Connectable CRF22: Zefron TXL Multi-Purpose Shuttle but a later one if I look at the printing.

The batteries have leaked so the inner workings are corroded to hell. I've ripped those out, washed the model, cleaned the markings off with alcohol and 400 grit sandpaper, and removed the connectable connectors back and front and the red pin on top.  I need to find some parts for the open spots, something for on top, a nice 10x10 base and some scatter to surround it.

I'll also need a backstory. As a marker, this is the exit point for my 15mm scifi stuff. The details I can fill in later. 

The Wonderful World of Gridfinity.

 With my right hand out of comission (again) I've started cleaning up, sorting out and doing other hobby related stuff....so anything but paining/building.

A few doors down one of the roving hairdressers was getting rid of a unused trolley so I picked that up and started transferring the stuff I do use a lot, like paints etc. 

Getting rid of dried up and otherwise useless paints etc does clear up the cabinet quite a bit. I don't like stuff rolling around though, so looked for a solution and wis directed towards Gridfinity. Oh boy. Just what I need. 

A great way to get rid of the last remains of bone and orange from last years Halloween prints. And it looks stylish too!

Bases for the pots of Vallejo Washes, no need to print anything for the paint stirrer or the blowdryer.

Yeah, need a few more of these and a small box for my sandpaper squares

So why am I bothering with this? Besides keeping all of my most used tools in one place, I want to get out a bit more and not just have hobbyevenings at my place. Go visit other gamers and hobby there. A trolley like this is just what I need for that. 

Well, that is the plan anyway. We will see if that survives contact. 

Purchases for various systems from May '40

 I made a pre order with May '40 for the Starterset of Pillage and tacked on some other items. Order arrived today after Sander received a ton of stuff on Saturday. Only missing a extra set of wattle fence (was in Backorder) but I will pick that up at Crisis this year.

Armed ladies for Pulp and SCW/WW2 and a Windmill that should work for Silver Bayonet up to modern times. 

Miners for Backwater Hicks, from Western days up till today, mostly Majestic 13.

Bunker 18 - Sarissa Precision AD03 - Fallout Shelter Entrance

For my Zona Alfa collection.

I left off the post office box and the handle, filled in the holes and used a valve from my sparesbox instead. I reversed the top part to the paving effect isn't visible. 

I tested out Greenstuff Worlds washable paint but it keeps bleeding through everytime I added another coat of varnish, so not likely to use that anytime soon.

Sinking Tower WIP

 

Blame Griefbringer bringing up a sinking castle in a swamp on the LAF on my Pillage topic. Now, for Pillage that would be rather absurd, but for Verrotwood not so much. A whole castle is out of my league, but a single tower?

 I grabbed a free one off of the bambu site, sliced it so it tilted a bit in 2 directions and printed that off. gave it a prober base, sand, primer and got cracking. While painting I notice pretty quickly that I had managed to download someones shitty AI project as it makes 0 sense when you look at it, but hey, I was halfway already so lets go. Waste not and all that.

 As I am pretty far a long, a thought struck me lastnight (painfull but I'll live) that it would be nice to have a drop in monsters nest on top of the tower. I'll first finish up the tower as is, but a nest needs eggs so I grabbed some wooden beads, superglue, toothpicks and my trusty Dremel.

 Finished these scatter pieces for my 28mm collection.

The 2 1100 liter Wheelie bins are from Warlord (Cast by Skytrex), decals from a Miniart kit

 The 2 Dumpsters are from Greenstuff World and are 1/48 scale (and seem to be OOP as the ones on the website are slightly different). Decals on front are both from Greenstuff world and I just realised I forgot to paint text on the yellow stickers....oops. 

 

More dead tree tests and a idea for a castle in a swamp.

 Free STL picked up online of 4 different dead tree stumps, and painted up the first 2.

Can I just mention it is very frustrating that every time you take a pic close up of FDM printed stuff the lines show up, but when I or my mates look at these up close no one can discern the lines with our naked (and me with my augmented) eyes? Only when you zoom out a bit and release the focus you get to see what I see. Anyway.....

And one for the general mood of things.

Also, when discussing swamps on the LAF the mention of a castle in a swamp turned up, so I grabbed a free stl, tilted it in 2 directions with the slicer and based it up. Now primed for tomorrows hobby night.

Vietnam test table

 I picked up a 4x4 mat from Greenstuff World that had a meandering stream bed in the middle that I intend to use for Pillage, but I wanted to see how it would work for Vietnam. In 15mm. And it works just fine.

I do need to make a few stands of palmtrees. And find my box of resin roads that seems to have gone AWOL (so you need to imagine where they would be, ok? Otherwise I'm pretty far along I'd say. 

As a swampy stream area with a ford for Pillage or other fantasy games. The 4x4 format makes it useful for Verrotwood as well. 

Verrotwood table layout test

 Same as with my Zona Alfa table, going over what I need to add, and this case.....a bit more diversity in trees so it isn't a episode of Pines-R-Us would be nice, and some farm buildings, burned down or not, and walls. But otherwise, not bad at all as it is.
