WIP Silver Bayonet ......Roman Undead? Sure, why not.

 Read that the new Britain book needs a few Roman zombies. It's not a period I would ever be interested in, but zombies I am, so.....why not. Traded some bits for a sprue of Warlord Romans (which apprantly are the worst, so great for Zombies then) and gave them heads from the Wargames Atlantic Pulp Zombies kit. They fit perfectly. Now to do cleanup, basing, arms etc. Might trade for another sprue so I have 16, and maybe another sprue to make skeletal ones just for funsies.

More graves for the graveyard. Again all Renedra Ltd but the fence around the double grave is from Noch. 

 

Quite a bit of room left in the box so I better keep this up.

 

 

A dead scene

 First set of graves is done and tufted so they can go in the box, and I'll make a new batch in the near future. All Renadra in this one, with some minor mods by myself with card and chain. And a ton of tufts.

Headstones galore!

 I grabbed a bag of Renedra tombstones and a old bag of flat plastic bases, bought ages ago for a long forgotten reason. A bit of cleanup, a bit of basing, and then a bit more focus on the 2 bigger graves, the last of those still needs a new coverstone from plasticcard that I want to smash up a bit. But that's for tomorrow. Also not a clue where the bag with resin tombstones from GSW ended up, but that will show up someday, I hope. I'll need loads eventually so working in batches like these suits me fine for now. 

A Grave Matter - testbase

 Had it in the box, primed and ready to go, so it was about time to finish these. 4cm square base, 2 gravestones from Green Stuff World IIRC. I've been looking at many a peoples (28mm) graves to get an idea how I would like to see mine based up. Tufts from various sources.  28mm scaled. 

 

 

28mm Undead Gargoyle....something

 Last year I bought this model from a local models reseller. It is officially a, <checks notes>, Aviarch Harpy from the Teratic Cohort from Warcry. Cause sure, why use normal names that you can't copyright ey?

Did not like the head so tossed that into the bits box and used a Beastman skull from GW's most excellent Citadel Skulls box (now that is a box that is worth its price if you ask me). The model arrived broken (missing wingtip and minor bumps etc) so fixed that, only the wingtip repair failed so I thought, wht bother. Added some rocks to the base and glued big ol washer underneath for support and to stick to magnetic sheeting. And as usual, it stayed in the todo box for almost a year?

Primed it bone, gave it a good drybrush, tried some glowing eyes (it's passable) and sprayed it gloss for protection, then matted all the bone and did the bloodwork and tufts. 

I'm not sure what I made tbh. While working on it, it feels it can work as a generic undead enemy or a boss level figure for Silver Bajonet, Horror Games, maybe Deth Wizards, Mordheim, be a Necromancers pet. So I'll just call it a Undead Gargoyle and call it a day.

Old statues and a Sarcophagus

 I had based and cleaned up quite a while ago a few of the old plastic GW LotR statues and thought it a good time to paint it up. Dropped in a Sarcophagus from Frontline as well, from their 25mm Musketeer Range, set MR6 Graveyard. Tufts are from a lot of different sources.

The advantage of graves and statues is that you can use them for almost all periods, from old to new and future even. Right, enough for today, on with the next.

Till death do us part

 Just finished these 2 Ghosts (yes, I know the lady is technically a Banshee). This picture really is 2021 in a nutshell for me, and the irony is not lost on me the model is also named Johan(n)......

But at least I had fun painting them!

Really starting to dislike my phone cam. No matter what settings I use, frame, timer, etc...I just cannot get hots to focus. Everything is just off by a tiny margin. So for 2022 I will look for a proper camera.

Nameless Undead Champion

So, a while back I bought a single model that turned out to be a shop freebie (just effing great....) and it went through a few trials to become a Undead Champion. It's been on my desk for months now, and I'm not 100% happy with it (not in the least tbh) but I'm calling it done and dusted. I need to pump out more undead to have what I want/need for ....reasons.

 I received a bits order and it included a proper weapon for my Undead Knight (Thingy) so fitted that. And now he is playing Croquet it seems.... One final check and then he is ready for primer.

A Buddah, 2 Mausoleums and 2 Ruins walk into a bar....

Todays meeting left me borderline mental, so it took a while to do anything hobby wise.

Gave the 4 walls 2 voats of polyurethane varnish and that should be pretty damn tough by tomorrow evening, so I can start finishing them a bit. Did most of the work on the 2 ruins, just needs the basework fin ished and they too can get 2 coats of varnish. Budah got painted and weathered as well, he too can get 2 coats of varnish tomorrow.

Not sure what else to do tomorrow besides more brick laying. Maybe cut a bit off the command bunker and build a loose generator shack as the Sgts Mess generator is pretty much unsalvagable....I would need to cut the entire radiator off and replace it with one from a kit....too much hard work for my hands to go cutting a big block of metal.  But we'll see.

Skulls! Skulls for the.....skullpile?

I picked up this resin skullpile at Figz 2018 a few months ago. 50 cents from one of the painters who was selling some no longer needed stuff. Based it on a rough plastic base and sanded it. Added a Ork and a Human skull, as I felt it was lacking skulls....(don't be silly).

Couple of washes, drybrushes and a bit of dust later.

And it fits in really nice with the efigy.

Question time. Does anyone recognise the skull pile? I have no idea if it is homemade, commercial or even recasted. Just curious.
