Finish it! - Bombshell Miniatures Minebots

Started - Well, bought in this case, June 2015. When shipping from the USA was still affordable and not a spare (tariffed) kidney.

Thats 2 moves ago and 10 years of my life. Was about bloody time I painted these.

"IIyama-Kevill SH-17S are affordable small size service robots for all of your needs for your Interstellar craft. Equipped with 2 dexterious manipulators no small task is too great for them. Directly connected to your ships computers they will not shy away from any service issues that arise and handle these in a swift manner"

IIyama-Kevill commercial add

Kevin kicked the now smoking little droid, the 10-gauge slug having removed the large central eye and most of the upper part of the little body. Its shiny black casing went flying and crumpled into a corner with a bang. He looked over to Fran who was taping up the puncture in the left leg of her suit, where the droid has sliced right through the suit but missing her leg. While that was going on, the scanner started pinging again. 3 more little lights came running around the corner. Kevin racked in another round for a aimed shot at the nearest little shit. This was costing too much time.....

I tried to make them as multi use as possible. 28mm or 15mm, Pulp, Sci-Fi or Cyberpunk.

White basecoat, several washes of Vallejo Dark Grey Wash and for the eyes I used 3 thinned Speedpaints (Blue, green and red). Decal from the Vo'Tann decalsheet from GW. Multiple coats of gloss varnish. 20mm magnetised round base. No damage.

I can't find the original models in the Bombshell Miniatures metal line, but you can get these as STL's now: Minebots

On one of them the antenna had snapped so I removed it from all 3.

For now they will get blasted apart in Scrapjacks :)

Finish it! - 2nd Stargrave Pirate finished

Started: September 2023 for the painting, unknown when I built it.

Another one down thx to the impetus from Scrapjacks.

Stargrave Soldier body, grenades and flashlight on the helmet are from Space Marines or Guard. Drilled out the face and put in a Necron lower chin. Oxygen backpack is a Adeptus Mechanicus piece, shoulder guard is a old Chaos Warrior something part? The rest is stock Stargrave. Decals: Star is from 1-94, Screaming Eagle from Warlord and the marking on the front of the redcap is a fuel filler marking from a German aircraft kit.

Background is that these are Pirates from The Numberd, they all carry a yellow shoulderpad with a number on it and they only refer to themselves as a number. Unknown is how many there are, and if it is just a ruse to appear more powerful. And the why, who knows....dead men don't talk.

And together with his buddy, finished in 2021.

Finish it! -15/28mm Sci-Fi Cargo made from toy car wheels

Date started: Around September 2024 I think.

Built, based and partialled painted and then dumped in a box after a cleaning run. These are 4 wheels I ripped off of small car toy cause they are a nice hard plastic and look container-y.

Now finished. May many more follow. Incidentally this also another 50 Cent Challenge finished!

Compared with 15mm

2nd Crew for Scrapjacks, number 5 and 6 WIP

Number 5 is a generic Spacer with knife and pistol.

Number 6 is a Yarddog....but I feel he might need more gear on his belt. Pose is a bit lame but this makes it easier to paint him.

Need to go over all of them, add magnets to their bases, and run them through their (coloured) primer.

2nd Crew for Scrapjacks - also sidehustling as Baddies? WIP

Right, the Flu is hitting me hard, all my joints hurt like a MF. Breathing is like mud. But staying in bed all day is making me feel even more miserable, so....

(I tried painting to finish the first team but that just doesn't work when coughing a lot and wielding a small tip brush. Now, a scalpel, much easier.... /s)

I made another Torch, this time with a overly agressive cutting saw and prepping a Det-Charge. The saw is a cut down Stargrave Rifle, with a saw like handweapon glued against and on it. After that I removed the ribbed part of the handle and slotted in a Warlord PIAT trigger to be used as the second handgrip for the saw. Anyone who ever used a disc sander or cutter knows you don't do that single handed unless you are going for a Darwin award.

Another Rigger, also with a tech gizmo in her hand and on her belt, and a pistol at the ready. The ....lightpole(?)... is the gun of a really old 1/76 Airfix Saracen. Recycle kids!

Either a Generic or a Patch, that will depend on the paintjob I guess. All tooled up with plenty of pouches etc, and a pistol.

A Generic, hauling around tools, ammo and what not in the various pouches? Pistol in hand.

I need to make 2 more, and these guys will get a more unified colorscheme compared to my current team that I have dubbed the Power Rangers.

I found some robots that are useful too, even if they might look a bit too cute. We will blast them anyway just to be sure.

A Daytrip to the TSA's Bring and Buy 5th of December 2025

After weighing in if I should or not, I decided to take the trip anyway. Even if I would find nothing of my liking I could fill up my jerrycans with petrol (it's 40 cente per litre cheaper in Belgium, so yeah....).

Weather was pretty miserable, roads are still very Belgian (if you know, you know) and the trip uneventful.

It was a bit busy, as always, but not completely overcrowded.

My most important purchase that had just been put out when I was about to leave (bloody typical) is a complete army for for AK-47. After a bit of back and forth I got it for a bargain. Army had been painted but never used in game (where have we heard that before...). I need to go over a few things and maybe get some magnet sheething for them and put them into their own RUB. I have the extra rules for this army so that is perfect :)

I paid about the same as it would cost me to order this, with shipping and the hit I would get from Customs, so.....happy.

A addition to my rulesset collection to cross off my by now ancient Wanted list. According to Piers I have a mega bargain, and these sell for a whole lot more online. Well, into my cabinet it goes. (also I love it when sellers mark their stuff with a label and price, especially with my eyes!)

Lots of spares. 3 for 15 and the other box for 10.  I have gifted myself Baron's War and some boxes for it for Christmas, so these will go into my stash for later.

Just for research purposes....not starting that period.

I picked up a blister in which recognised some Ghar, so for 4 euros I decided to take a risk. I ended up with 4 drones, a Distortion (?) cannon and 1 crew, and some Rebels, all outcasts. They should make a nice warband for a SciFi game I reckon. Nest to keep them in a bag to spend a hour cleaning them all up, assembling them and priming them white as pale skin seems to suit them.

A really old Warlord Carden Loyd Carrier. I thought it was a MG carrier, but it seems to be just the normal unarmed tractor version. maybe it is destined to become a light gun or mortar tow for my VBCW BUF (something I have had in my mind for maybe 20 years now....) so maybe just make the occasional item to scratch that itch would be smart as I doubt I will ever make a full force for it. Something I, if I'm honest, should do more often instead of overinvesting? Also, why on earth does Warlord charge you 24 euros for a new one? These things are smaller than a matchbox!

After some Googling I found out this is a Cannone da 75/27 modello 11 with a 4 man crew. I pitched the idea to make scenery for The Last War, but maybe this too can make it into the VBCW box. Who knows. 3 euros was again a bargain.

I saw these fences and thought they would work fine for Stalker etc. Just remove some of the flock here and there and add some of my own plants. Add some weathering but otherwise fine. You can never have enough fencing. 20 euros for the box.

Then some books that my group had an interest in that I won't bother you with. Rogue Trader stuff :)

All in all a nice day out, but man I'm not very healthy. Took me a few hours to recover after arriving back home and tbh I'm still so damn tired. Did some glueing of MDF parts and a wash over the big gun I'm working on but that was it. Maybe I can get more done tomorrow. Well, something anyway.

And somethimes it just doesn't work.

Multi part in 15mm and 28mm are coming out fine, the 15mm with a loss of detail but nothing terrible.

Starship engine printed at 15mm and ready for cleanup.

Scifi trams at 28mm and 15mm, ready for cleanup

Scifi train reay for assembly and cleanup, for the Stargrave scenario the Heist. Might add a passengercar to the list, the flatcars end up too thin on the sides to print safely so I will need to mod those a bit.

But then I try one of the WoW files again and it fails (again) at the 2nd layer.
Oh well, such is life
