Finish it! - Big Fat Silo x2 by recycling a Faller H0 kit

 Date started: somewhere early 2025 I think.

Built, based and that was it. Primed these last week and did most of the paint job at our hobby nights. 

Kept it basic and generic so it works for multiple periods and scales.

With 15mm (though the drone is technically also used for 15 and 28mm), stairs to the front.

With 28mm with the marking. Though to be honest, the slim stairs side will also work for it, God knows I've had to scale some for work that only had space for one steel toeed boot at a time. 

In case you are wondering about getting these for yourself......don't!

This is a H0 kit from Faller, 130474 of which I bought a box of 8 or 10 at a tenner each years ago. Well, inflation hit hard cause these up in price by 500%. 

Then again the kit has a ton of parts for scratchbuilding, so....

Finishing a quickbuild (9 months later) - 15mm Fishing Boat (or Mistery Machine)

 I finished the fishing boat I started in August of last year, see here: Quickbuild Fishing Boat

I added a mast, resin tires, more netting and then the top light broke off, then reprimed it and it sat abandoned in a box for 8 months, until refound during one of my many, many cleanups (though it never seems to get much cleaner, funny that).

Spent 2 sessions painting it and getting it ready for pictures, and yet again I realised while checking the pictures on my PC that I had inadvertently painted a somewhat familiar scheme.

Just a bit less bright than this....

Also, I need to make a few docks, I should prep some of the big blocks of wood I have with filler to make concrete piers or something.

 Anyhoo....

She is one of a set of 4 boats from Kibri, set 39160 which can be had for about 20-ish euros per 4. 

Banged up Silo

Today, I finished a third :) There will be loads more as I find them supergeneric for various scales, even if they are originally for H0. Next up I should paint a few more that aren't knackered though...they are great for the Zone.

More power! Unlimi....well, not THAT much, sorry.

 Evenings worth of painting on a old, dare I say ancient, bit of plastic. Bought it for 2,50 euros built, stripped it, cleaned it, rebuild it (as good as 64+ year old plastic let's that happen, the damn thing is at retirement age!) and done. Faller B-143 Transformer Tower, in case you want one.

H0 scale, so works for 15mm as well as 20mm. Went for the "It's older but it checks out" with no defining region stuff, so goes anywhere, any period. Symbol is something I just Googled for with Power Company and looked good. Some spring tufts et voila.

Double Silo

 Finished these 2, they came incomplete in a box of H0 scale seconds, I glued them to a Warhammer 40mm base and used some spare stuff to spruce them up a bit. They will work fine for almost anything, 15mm, 20mm, 28mm and fit all the timeframes I game in (well, build for anyway), even Stargrave!.

The joys of shopping around 2nd hand market stuffs

Sometimes you can make quite the catch.

Piko glass factory, H0 scale, PSC T-34/76 for scale. Bloody expensive when bought new, if you can find it at all. Secondhand....not so much.

It is almost complete, came with a big box full of aditional parts including a fence that completely surrounds it. It will need cleaning, and some adaptations to make it wargames proof/safe, and a base. I really want to get this done. When, I have no idea. I can make a proper fist now, but can't punch a dent in a wet newspaper, no strength at all in my hand.

In my current drive to unpack and start building stuff that arrives in the mail, I opened a box of H0 stuff I received in trade (one of the lat few items to be sent) and in it are some buildings, some cars, a diesel fueltank and missing items......ffs. Chap has promised free shipping and some free bits to make up for his error, when I buy some stuff from him....so that just went into long term planning.

Anyway, stripped the paper from the building in the back, washed off the dirt with a good scrub, dried it and repaired what was broken, and put it on a 1.5mm form fitting base. I will do the same with the other one tomorrow and get them ready for paint. They are both railway buildings, but the one in the back will work for a German farm storage shed as well so I can get plenty of use out of it.

 I grabbed a Zil 157 truck from my Big Box of Zils TM (I think I have another 15 left) and bolted the diesel tank on the back and gave it a rough scrub and some extra parts. This will be a used and abused water tanker for Afrika, the Middle East, and TW:2K. It's a bit of a fantasy model but hey. Will rough it up with dents etc when everything has set. The landy in the back will be civil as well.

Some H0 hoppers. I dunno, build them as 28mm Necromunda scenery, get some bits to raise them and use them for 20mm, or turn them around and use them for 6-10-15mm scifi? They sure look.....interesting.
