Stripping part 2

Had some paint on parts that just would not let go, so grabbed the bottle of Clean Slate rmvr 3.0 I bought a while back, and decided it to test on some parts. Well, color me impressed.

9.50 euro for a bottle that is going to last me some time. Just brush on and let it soak in, and it comes off pretty quick if you keep moving it around.

Old Battlefront casts of the 120mm mortar carriages I picked up for my 1945 Project, and in a lot I picked up in Hungary that was listed as a "Israeli Army" I've found it bo be around 20% Israeli and the rest just crap from WW2 and other armies, painted badly, mixed in. Not a single mould line cleaned, with tons of casting gates still left on them.....oh boy. I'll try and give them the love they need, but hey, 2 Vietnam M-60 teams and some Vietnam command figures will come in super handy for the Vietnam project, jay!

Even the old crusty paintjobs on these plastic power barriers come off like a treat. Well, 99% of it, but the rest I can remove with a scalpe as I have to clean up the mouldlines as well. For the generic Necro/Rogue Trader/Stargrave box these.

Stripping is something Wargamers are good at. Supposedly.

Received a very beat up box of "Israeli" stuff (most isn't but was sold as) and now running them through the stripping solution. Upgraded to a 10 litre sonic cleaner after my old one died 2 weeks ago.....much easier.

And what do you know, the M113's are still amphibious.

Twin stacks of Death

Just a fun build with nothing but waste foam and cardvoard rolls. For the Ash Wastes, but should fit in other places. Just placcards, no graffiti, calling it done.

LOS blocker or Environmental Hazard point....who knows what these things belch, and when....

Forlorn Hope at Sachsendorf - Russian WIP part 3

A little bit of progress, magnets finally arrived, as well as 2 sets of PT-34 mine rollers kindly donated to me (if that isn't motivational, I dunno what is) and I picked up a new bottle of Mr Surfacer 1000 for texturing the turrets, but I will do a test first to see if it even shows up.

Magnets or new Russian superweapon?

Changing the roadwheel was something I liked doing.....just not with a scalpelblade and my less than capable hands these days. So Dremel it is. I ran through the first one with ease, and then realised I should have removed the....thingy that keeps the wheel in place. Hub...knob...thing? The next 2 I removed beforehand and I grabbed the...thing from a PSC T-34 roadwheel). I wanted to convert a few with one or two Panther roadwheels.

And then I find out that A. The spare Pantherwheels you get with the BF (Jagd)Panther are a bit bigger than expected and B. I can't bend these tracks out of the way like I can with PSC ones.
Oh well, a small cut here, a small cut there, some paint and mud and Bob will be your creepy family member.

One is not like the others...

Progress, and a sharp scalpelblade which is a bit of a healthrisk with clumsyness....

The plan for this week is to finish all the trackwork (done), have all the magnets in place (I'm short 1 T-34/85 turret to build for the Beute) and get the 10 T-34/76, the T-34 ARV and the PT-43/76 completely built up, pinned and ready for primer.

This may be a bit optimistic as we are in the middle of a tropical heatwave (by Dutch strandards, we went from 18 C to 31 C which means I start my mornings in the gym as they have AC )

Ah well, best laid plans and all that.

Making an impact

Wanted to add some waterlogged craters to denote that the area you are fighting in is very boggy. After 4 coats of gloss varnish I gave up. 24 hours dryiung time in between but it just did not want want to become 1 nice sheet. Guessing Galeria Gloss Varnish just ins't very good for this. On the bright side, I have my color mix ready now to do the Vietnam rice paddies!

And more love for our Admiral General Aladeen and his esteemed friends!

Mordheim noticeboard

A small paletcleanser so to speak. Quick and dirty, still took me a few nights to get it done. Chopsticks and coffeestirrers for the frame and planking, posters from various soruces online, skull from Green Stiff World. Candle is a toothpick with a bit of wire and greenstuff.

Forlorn Hope at Sachsendorf - the list of what I need to build - which is a lot, but not as much as I thought.

 Forces needed for this scenario:

And the battlefield I need to make:
