A lovely day out - Visiting the TSA Bring and Buy on the 16th of March 2025 - a nice haul

 After a very epxneisve month sofar (more about that later this month) I thought it be a good idea to visit the BnB to see if I could find some stuff suitable for my Stalker project. And maybeee look at some other stuff as well.

Well....

28mm M113, possibly as a TW:2K wreck. Maybe. It has potential.

28mm M40. Put it in in a sand bag bunker and it will work for everyone.

Older Nids make great aliens for Stargrave etc. 6 for the Ravener and 7 for the Guard was a steal.

20 for a box of Ork bikes. I can never say no to Orks (not that they would understand, but hey)

3D printed and painted T-34/76 in 28mm. Make a concrete plinth for it, weather it some more and add crap, et voila, another piece for Stalker. Hard cover for 5 euros :P

Things you never find these days, these will come in perfect for Post Apocalypse, Stalker, etc. 5 each, also a good deal. 

5 euros for a sprue of Winter FJ from Warlord. Why not, if just for the conversion potential

15 euros for those Necorumda Ash Wastes Hellmites. Sans riders will make nice beats to wander the table in Stargrave or TnT.

Should fit my 15mm Bundeswehr I think. Got it for a fiver as I was staring too hard (or the seller wanted to be rid of it)

12mm static grass, should come in handy for hay etc. 2 euros for a whole bag.

28mm ruined house that should fit right in my Mordheim collection, and that for 8 euros.

Dust Nissen Hut for a fiver. Super useful kit. Stalker, Post apoc etc.

Frostgrave Nullmen. Paint white, add a glowing green wash....Glowing Ones? Fiver again.

Been eyeing the Cargo ship for a while now, so 20 for that and the dock combined, why not. Should fit Stalker as well.

Iron Hands 30K decalsheet for 5 euros, unused. I just really like Iron Hands, so....

Picked up 2 of these rather large appartment complexes at 25 each. Seller had a third, which he even discounted for me, but these are so big and will take me quite some time to prep and paint....a good 2 months each at my current pace I think. Made by Knights of Dice, now defunct as a shop IIRC. Must have cost a sheer fortune to have those shipped over from Oz, and I intend to do them right....massive job though.

For comparison, left bottom is the Sarissa Ambassadors Residence for scale. Well, for those people that actually own that model as well, the rest of you will just have to guesstimate. I will need to measure them now and see what kind of RUB will fit these as none of my current ones do, except the really big ones....which feels like overkill.

Ork Bunker is 80% done

 Did a few things today and rounded off with more work on the Bunker. 1 or 2 more paint sessions and it should be done. Liking my new tempo and method. Faster and basically gets the same results.

Paint the damn Checkers

 After a few days of (more than usual) pain, decided to .....just paint damn checkers.

15 minutes of work and it looks fine. Not sure why I have been putting that off for, I dunno, 10 years or so. Not much, but another thing crossed off of the bucket list. Now my hand hurts even more so definately something to do again on a good day.

Even more guns! Flakk Trakk WIP

 Picked up a bag of bits and it had a Invictor warsuit (whatever GW....) big Assault Cannon, so replaced the one I had with NEWER! BIGGER! BETTER! assault cannon. 

Size doesn't matter....is something no Ork would ever say. 

I think it needs more sensors.....

Thanks to Kees I now have a huge bag of Ork Dakkajet bits (thx bud!) and already set aside some parts that will be going into this build (more guns!)

Also had hobby night tonight, Modhail brought some more (well, alot) 3D printed parts so I spent some time washing and cleaning them right away, and fixing what is broken (remember kids, resin is brittle) and basing some of the stuff of the STL's I purchased, more on that soon, I hope. 

A generator with a shattered base, fixed with epoxy, I trimmed a statue in Blender to affix to the ruined high rise I'm working on, and have a 3 up (or something) Autogun for the gunshop I'm making. I've asked Modheil to make me another one 180 degrees reversed so I can combine the 2 on a big pointy arrow on something I finsihed but never showed. Again, soon. And some rock grubs in the back.

 Slowly cobbling along, Orks really are my true love (wargaming wise) just to go bonkers on stuff.

 So much more to do, but having a lot of fun doing it :)

Dear Diary, why do I keep building Ork stuff?

 Cleaning my desk, cleaning models, working on the house, starting a new Ork build. Why o why.... It does look cool though, sofar.

Shine a little light on me

 Finished the worklight on the back of the van Rhino. It came from a Sentinel, and the base is from a Ork Gargant, cabling is soldering wire.

I recycled a Chaos vehicle ram into a light bar using more 1/24 truck parts. It needs more work and cabling, but after that small details, cleanup and tracks and ready for primer!

Knock knock? More like DAKKA DAKKA!

 As a Ork Ambulance has to be the most hated kind of ambulance in 40K, it should look accordingly. 

Guessing eveyone and their pet Squig will shoot at this, so added more bulletimpacts. Most likely it will get more before primer hits it.

What's up, Doc?

 Finished the detailing of the big symbol on top, revealing who's ride this is.  Well, as far as white on whiote is easy to photograph anyway....

Yup, it is for a Ork Painboy and his crew. Painboy has been on order for over a month <sigh> but I have a gazillion bits for his crew. Next up is more work on the rear doors

Smokey and the barrel.

 Removed the right front armored exhaust cover (God I love my Japanese saw) and replaced it with something more....Orky. I guess fuel drums will always be a useful tool for any Ork Mek. Almost done now with all the modifications, work is now to be done on the top and rear section, then slap on the tracks. And to find my missing Rhino headlights....somewhere.

Top of the line Grot-O-Matic Big Shoota

 The best weapon teeth can buy. Well, maybe. Ah, who are we kidding. 

Armor plate protects the ammo feed, sight is underneath the Big Shoota (and partially covered by the front armor plate on the Rhino, of course). Just needs the magnets, when I find them. Added the most useless ram spike on the Rhino ever.

Now to further detail the rest, add 2 more exhausts, and start work on the rear doors.

Full Frontal

 Frontal armour plate finished. Then added blunt force damage with my burner, melted half the bolts, and redid those. There is such a thing as planning, and I'm not good at it :)

Also did the drivers cuppola in the cheapest way possible by recycling one my failed Grot mini tank. 

Next up either a new rear door or the top, which will be raised a bit. Then small details before paint. Now that's been a while, painting stuff. 

I might even finish something. There, now I've jinxed it.

2 Doors down

 Had a bit of free time and made the 2nd door, with a more basic handle on the door, now I have used both types of Ork knives from the old sets. I picked up a big box of used Ork sprues and these still have a ton of weapons and these knives on it, and they make perfect door handles...so, use it.

Still not quite sure why Forgeworld make it with the bumps on the side of the door as that only makes sense if they drop down on the floor, and these don't (unless they did a terrible parking job!) but I just copy, modify and paste anyway and I doubt the Orks would give it much (any?) thought. 

Next up is the front and that will be a 1 big armor plate with a viewport cut out. Might add a cut out visor on top of it. Typical Ork tooth on front of course. Might rip out one of the roadwheels and replace it with a another type from a 1/35 kit. The hardest work will be in the back and the top, and I need to scrounge my bits box for 1 or 2 headlights. Road safety and all that :) But I'm not in any rush, my back is killing me so sitting here for extended times isn't...smart

Back to the Orks

 Finally more or less settled in the flat, with a routiune and everything. Long Covid is still hitting hard, test after test and lot's of therapy and no dicsernable improvement. Taking better care of myself and really conserving my energye to what needs to be done, not chase every pipe dream that enters my head. 

And lastnight, I finally had some energy spare, and with a second hand Rhino in my hand and pictures of the Forgeworld looted Rhino front of me I managed a whole new door in about 3 hours time. Time wise it's glacial, but at least I did a thing. I hear looted Rhino's aren't a thing anymore, but I'm pretty close to just giving up on wargaming and just painting what I like, without the pressure of making a force or army or whatever. It's not like I finished one in the last 10 years anyway, so....

So yes, I did a thing. Might do another door tonight or just watch some TV, I hear Obi Wan is on tonight.

Da Bloo Toof

 Right, the Ork Transport (supply ship, Gargant transport, free trader that interacts with the Imperium, who knows?) Da Bloo Toof....is done.

Varnished, labelled and ready for the table. Someday. Great trial for other ships, not sure when I will get to them though....

Original model is a Ground Zero Games FT338C Tradewind II class short hauler I ought a couple of years ago, for which I purchased another set of containers, that I pinned into place....and there it languished for quite a while. I can't remember when I picked it up again and just started adding bits to make a really scruffy trader that evolved into a Ork ship....but here she is: Da Bloo Toof. (yes, it's a joke)
